Glad You Asked Content

Glad You Asked is made up of eight sessions designed to tackle hard spiritual questions with intelligence, passion and respect. It uses enquiry to help people explore their own beliefs and invites them to engage their minds and hearts with the perspectives offered in the eight DVD sessions.

Session 1: How do we make sense of the world?

This session provides tools to understand our view of the world and how we use it to assess what is true.

Session 2: Does God Exist?

In this session, an atheist and a theist present their arguments in the debate about the existence of God.

Session 3: How Can God Allow suffering?

This session considers the challenge of reconciling human suffering and God’s goodness, suggesting God’s solution to the problem.

Session 4: Can the Bible be trusted?

In this session, evidence for the reliability of the Bible is offered as well as reflection on how the Bible impacts our lives today.

Session 5: Is Jesus God?

This session explores the significance of Jesus’ claim to be God.

Session 6: If Jesus is God, why did he die?

This session considers the problem of sin and the importance of Jesus’ death.

Meet the contributors

Amy Orr-Ewing
Amy is director of Programmes for the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and Training Director for RZIM Zacharias Trust.

Dr Ard Louis
Ard is a Royal Society University Research Fellow and a Reader in Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford. He is also the International Secretary for Christians in Science and an associate of the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion.

Brian Draper
Brian is a writer, associate lecturer in culture at the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, and contributor to BBC Radio 4 Thought for the Day. He is also the founder and director of Echosounder, ‘a four-part taster course on spiritual intelligence’.

Charles Clayton
Charles worked as executive director of World Vision UK, and then as executive director of World Vision for Jerusalem, West Bank and Gaza. He now is director of Oxford Leaders, working with non-profit organistional leaders and boards.

Dr David Webster
David is a Senior Lecturer in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics at the University of Gloucester. His main research interests are Buddhist Studies, the Philosophy of Desire, and Issues of Ageing, Sickness and Death in Philosophy and Religion.

Dr Krish Kandiah
Krish is the Executive Director of Churches in Mission and England Director for the UK Evangelical Alliance.

Dr Mee Yan Cheung Judge 
Mee-Yan is the creator and driving force behind Quality & Equality. She founded Quality & Equality in June 1987 after a distinguished eight-year career in academia and in the marketplace.

Rachel Gardner
Rachel is founder and creative director of the Romance Academy, a UK-based education experience that gives teens the tools they need to make intelligent choices about sex and relationships.

Dr Sharon Dirckx
Sharon Dirckx is an Academic Tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics and an associate apologist for RZIM Zacharias Trust. She has a Ph.D. in brain imaging from the University of Cambridge and has held research positions in Switzerland, the USA and the University of Oxford.

Tom Price
Tom is an Academic Tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, an Associate of RZIM Zacharias Trust, and a Damaris speaker. Tom was the founding editor of the apologetics website

Tony Watkins
Tony is a writer and speaker on Christian faith and contemporary culture, with a particular interest in film. He is the Managing Editor of Culturewatch and a speaker with the Damaris Trust.
