What is Gift Aid?

The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. Innovista can take your donation - which is money you've already paid tax on - and reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs on its 'gross' equivalent.

Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £100 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £125 to us. For donations between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011 we will also get a separate government supplement of three pence on every pound you give.

You are eligible providing that for every £1 you donate to Innovista in a financial year you have paid 25p in income or capital gains tax in the same financial year to qualify for Gift Aid. You may have income tax taken from your wages or salary before you receive your pay; pay tax after filling in a self-assessment form each year; have taxable savings (in a Building Society, for instance), or a pension plan, or investment income; or have paid any capital gains tax, on the sale of a property or some shares, for instance.

If any of these apply to you, please complete and return your declaration or tick the gift aid box when giving online so that Innovista can reclaim the tax on your donations, allowing more young leaders to be identified and developed to take the hope of Jesus to those around them.

If your tax status changes, please let us know by emailing

How will my money be used?

Supporters like you help young leaders across Europe, Russia and Central Asia fulfil their vision of reaching those around them with the hope of Jesus. Your support and partnership helps us to produce culturally relevant resources like Glad You Asked and Zerro which are used to introduce Ukrainian young people to Jesus; it helps us to equip leaders of the persecuted church in Central Asia to lead local mission; it helps Slavic to travel two days on a train across Siberia to help equip leaders for everyday mission; it enables mission-focussed Tempo groups to happen in places as different as Dublin, Vienna and Kiev; it allows an incarnational presence to exist in socially disadvantaged areas. Your support helps young leaders in places like these to bring hope.

One of our values is to strive to use all our resources in ways that bring the most hope and change to others. We are really thankful to all our supporters who give so that young leaders are equipped to lead local mission across Europe, Russia and Central Asia, and seek to steward these resources for maximum impact.

To ensure wise stewardship of our resources, we have accountability through appropriate structures; we build partnerships that avoid unnecessary duplication; we are strategic in using all our resources; and we work with clear goals in view, measuring our effectiveness as appropriate..

What difference does it make?

Ok, this isn't a Frequently Asked Question because the difference that is being made with your partnership in lives across Europe, Russia and Central Asia can be clearly seen. We love sharing stories with those who also want to see hope brought through young leaders, and bringing you the joy of seeing how your generosity is making a difference.

Why not discover the difference that your support is making in the lives of young people who were without hope?

Why should I give regularly?

Regular committed giving is by far the best way to support young leaders in their vision to take the hope of Jesus to those around them. Your commitment to giving regularly allows young leaders to pioneer sustainable local mission across Europe, Russia and Central Asia.

It allows us to manage our budget more effectively as we identify and develop these young leaders. It helps us plan ahead, cuts down on our admin, and enables us to meet our ongoing commitment to young leaders in difficult places.

You can set up a Direct Debit here and begin supporting young leaders to bring the hope of Jesus to those around them today!

How can I change the amount I give?

If you are giving by Direct Debit and want to change the amount that you give regularly, please contact us or our Direct Debit facilitators Stewardship directly.

If you are giving by Standing Order, please contact your bank directly to arrange the changed amount. If you are registered with online banking, you can usually amend your Standing Orders online.

Can I give anonymously?

Of course you can! But this means that we are unable to claim Gift Aid on your donation and we don't get the opportunity to thank you and let you know how your money is making a difference, so we'd rather know who you are.

Can I fundraise for Innovista?

Absolutely! Find out more information and get some ideas on our fundraising page.

How do I leave a gift in my will?

Perhaps you've thought about leaving behind a legacy for young leaders in places you may never visit, to help bring the hope of Jesus to people you may one day meet? We've answered this question in full over on our Legacy Giving page.
