Sharing resurrection hope with the forgotten few
This Easter, we shared with you the urgent need to reach the forgotten few in Central Asia. Innovista supporters gave generously to help more people hear and believe the good news of Jesus.
This Easter, we shared with you the urgent need to reach the forgotten few in Central Asia, and the story of a young pastor named Erlan* who is doing just that. Innovista supporters gave generously to help more people hear and believe the good news of Jesus.
Erlan and his church brought hope and friendship to Jasur*, a patient at a remote TB hospital. At 60 years old, he was living out his final days in the hospital. His family didn’t visit him, and he felt alone.
That was until Erlan and members of his church began visiting patients at the hospital, bringing food, friendship, and most importantly the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jasur gave his life to Christ, and spent his remaining days with his eyes fixed on the hope of new life.
Erlan’s hospital visits were made possible thanks to Innovista supporters who enabled him and his church to receive training. This training helped them shape a vision to serve all 12 villages in their region, and develop a plan to achieve this.
The TB hospital visits were only the beginning of what God is doing through Erlan and his church.
Encouraged by your partnership, Erlan and his team are continuing their mission to reach those around them with the good news. The church is now supporting a woman named Nadija* and her husband. Although the church family has little money to spare, they are doing all they can to support Nadija’s family with food and supplies.
Nadija now takes short mission trips to surrounding villages to tell people the good news of the gospel. On her last trip, she shared the gospel with 14 people, and 4 of them came to faith! Nadija puts them in touch with Erlan, who is continuing their discipleship.
Innovista will continue to provide encouragement and resources to Nadija and Erlan. There are so many other Christian leaders like them who are in desperate need of support. Thank you for continuing to stand with them and enabling Innovista to continue serving them.
