Maricela Bejan is Innovista’s National Director of Moldova. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University and has a Master’s degree in social work from Moldova State University. She is currently a PhD candidate in sociology at Moldova State University, where she has taught in the past, and she is also studying at the Elpis School of Counselling. Maricela has a background in youth and worship leading at church, and she also previously managed a social project helping vulnerable families affected by child abuse. She joined Innovista in 2019 and has led both ‘Mindshift’, a training programme for those in post-Soviet countries, and ‘Relevant’, a tool to help Moldovan churches use all their members to serve their communities and reach them for God. Maricela is married to Sergiu and they live with their five children in Chisinau, where they are both involved in leadership and a home group for their local church. Her desire is to see Moldovan church leaders empowered to support and equip others to build the kingdom of God across all spheres of society. Maricela is also the cofounder of a medical start-up connected with children’s health, and she also enjoys singing, fishing and reading.
